What is a VIN, and where can I find it?
A VIN is the 17-character vehicle identification number used for most vehicles built since 1981. Check the driver’s side dashboard through the windshield, the driver’s door frame or the registration documents. You may also find it in the seller’s listing.
Can I check a car I’m thinking of buying?
Yes. Use the VIN from the vehicle or listing to research its available history before you decide. Make sure it matches the vehicle and its documents.
Which countries and search methods are available?
Choose a market in the country selector. Available records and search methods vary by market; license plate search is not available everywhere.
Why isn’t my VIN accepted?
Check that it has 17 characters, with no spaces. VINs do not use the letters I, O or Q. Compare what you entered with the vehicle documents. Older vehicles and some markets may use different identifiers.
What information is included in a report?
Reports bring together available accident and damage records, title history, mileage, salvage and theft checks, recalls, specifications, sales history and market value estimates. Coverage varies by vehicle, market and source.
Does “no record” mean nothing happened?
No. It means no matching record is available in the information returned. Not every incident is reported or included in a data source. Use the report alongside a physical inspection and the vehicle’s documents.
Is the market value a guaranteed sale price?
No. It is an estimate when available. Condition, mileage, location and the agreement between buyer and seller can all affect the final price.
Where can I find a previous report?
Open Mi Garage and go to your report history. Reports from your searches are kept together so you can return to the vehicles you have researched.
What if I entered the wrong VIN or something looks incorrect?
Check the VIN against the vehicle’s documents. Contact support with the VIN, selected market and report or order reference, if you have one. Explain which detail you want us to review.
How do I sign in to Mi Garage?
Enter the email address linked to your account. We’ll send you a magic link so you can sign in without a password. Open the most recent sign-in email.
What if the sign-in email doesn’t arrive?
Check your spam folder and confirm that you entered the email address used for your purchase. Request a new link if the previous one has expired. If you still cannot sign in, contact support with your account email.
Can I update my email or account details?
Use the profile settings in Mi Garage to manage your details. An email change may require confirmation. Contact support if you no longer have access to your current email address.
What do I pay now, and what happens after 7 days?
Your first report costs $1.95 and includes a 7-day platform trial. After 7 days, the subscription automatically renews at $49.95 per month unless you cancel. These are service charges, not the value of the vehicle.
What does unlimited access include?
You can make unlimited VIN searches during your active trial or subscription and revisit your reports in Mi Garage. Search methods, markets and available records depend on coverage.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Manage your subscription through the billing portal linked to your purchase. If you cannot sign in, contact support using the email address associated with your purchase. Cancellation stops future renewals under your subscription terms.
How do I ask about a charge or request a refund?
Contact support with the email address used for your purchase, the payment date and an order reference if available. Explain your request so the team can review it. Do not send full card details or security codes.
